On-line Forum on Philosophy, Engineering and Technology
November 17-19, 2020
The mission of fPET is to encourage reflection on engineering, engineers, and technology; and to build bridges between existing organizations of philosophers, engineers and scholars in related fields.
Due to COVID-19’s emergency, the face-to-face conference originally programed to be held in Valparaíso in May 2020 has been postponed to year 2022. A virtual conference will be held on November 17-19, 2020.

Some remarks on on-line fPET2020 experience
The organizing team is working towards guaranteeing that this will not just be yet another virtual conference event, but that - in the spirit of fPET - we will put a strong focus on networking and community development. The conference will be hosted on a digital platform that supports video streaming of presentations (to make up for time-zone differences), live Q&A, matchmaking according to similar interests and chats between all members.
Among the opportunities opened by an online experience, we want to highlight:
- All co-authors have the chance to attend the conference and to be involved in their presentation
- “Excursion format”: people from industry or others with access to industry can stream directly from an environment where technology is actually at work, so that we can get to the heart of the matter
We will also have an interactive session on international collaboration, project development and research opportunities. More workshops and panels will be announced soon.
Registration Fee
The registration fee is USD $20. In case of multiple author’s papers, it will be allowed to pay one single fee, to encourage the participation of the whole teams. The fee includes access to the conference through the web/mobile application Whova.
